System Requirements

A practice test simulates the actual exam and is designed to provide you with the optimal preparation for what to expect on the day that you take the real exam. A MeasureUp practice test incorporates around 150 questions covering the exam objective domains. In a MeasureUp practice test there are two possible test-taking modes to prepare students for their certification: Certification Mode and Practice Mode.

  • The Practice Mode lets users highly customize their testing environment. They may determine how many questions they want to include in their assessment, the maximum time to finish the test, whether to have a random question order, and select how and which questions will be shown in the test.
  • The Certification Mode simulates the actual testing environment users will encounter when sitting a certification exam. They are timed and do not permit users to request the answers and explanations to questions until after the test.

XK0-005 CompTIA Linux+ CERTIFICATION

What is CompTIA Linux+ certification?

The CompTIA Linux+ certification exam validates foundational skills in administering the Linux operating system.

How many questions are there in the CompTIA Linux+?

There is a maximum of 90 questions in the CompTIA Linux+ certification exam.

Is CompTIA Linux+ worth it?

If you have experience of using Linux as a junior Linux administrator and want to validate and demonstrate your skills, then obtaining an official certification is the best way to do this.

Does CompTIA Linux+ expire?

CompTIA certifications expire three years after the date on which you obtained the certification, and so it is necessary to renew them prior to the expiry date. There are many ways of doing this, including earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by completing approved activities, completing another higher-level certification, passing the latest version the exam for your CompTIA certification or, for certain exams, you can complete a CompTIA CertMaster Continuing Education (CE) course. Interestingly, if you hold more than one CompTIA certification, then you only need to meet the requirements to renew the highest-level certification in order to automatically renew the rest.

How long do I need to study for CompTIA Linux+?

How long you’ll need to study for the CompTIA Linux+ certification exam will depend on your existing level of experience and knowledge. CompTIA advises, if you have no prior Linux experience, that you will need at least 120 hours of study plus time for hands-on practice of the skills covered by the exam.

How hard is CompTIA Linux+?

Again, this will depend on your existing level of experience and skill with regards to using the Linux operating system. Likewise, if you have passed the initial exams that form part of CompTIA’s Infrastructure pathway, including the A+ (Core 1 and Core 2), Network+, and Security+, then this will no doubt give you a solid foundation to progress to the Linux+.
