Windows NT Add-On Subsystem for Presentation Manager
Windows NT 4 added supported for 16-bit OS/2 1.x Presentation Manager applications. Previous versions of Windows NT provided no support for Presentation Manager-dependent applications. This support is provided by the Add-on Subsystem for Presentation Manager. This subsystem replaces the OS/2 Subsystem on Intel-based Windows NT systems. It is not available for RISC-based systems.

This add-on subsystem is not provided free of charge. You must purchase it separately in addition to Windows NT.
Table 5.4 shows the components of the Add-on Subsystem for Presentation Manager. An executed Presentation Manager application generates a separate Presentation Manager desktop. This desktop is not integrated with the Windows NT desktop.
