Exercise 4.10: Install Peer Web Services (PWS)

This exercise details the step-by-step process required to install a Peer Web Server on a Windows NT Workstation 4.0.
Objective:Configure Microsoft Peer Web Services
Time Estimate:20 minutes
1.Before starting the installation of Peer Web Services, make sure that the TCP/IP protocol is installed and properly configured.
2.Double-click on the Network program in Control Panel.
3.Click on the Services tab.
4.Click on Add.
5.Select Microsoft Peer Web Services from the Network Service list, and then click on OK.
6.Insert your NT Workstation 4.0 installation CD when prompted, and then click on OK.
7.Click on OK to start Peer Web Services Setup.
8.Click on OK to select which PWS services to set up.
9.Click on Yes to create the Inetsrv directory.
10.Click on OK to specify the names for the publishing directories.
11.Click on Yes to create the publishing directories.
12.Wait while the PWS files are installed.
13.Click on OK in the Install Drivers box.
14.Click on OK to end the installation of PWS.
15.Click on Close in the Network Properties box.
  1. You do not have to restart your computer. PWS is now active.
