Implementing Local User and Group Accounts
Windows NT has a mandatory logon. That means that every user who wants to use a Windows NT Workstation must have a logon name and password before he or she can use Windows NT Workstation. Whether you are in a small workgroup or a large domain, it is a good idea to plan the implementation of user accounts as well as local group accounts. Local group accounts are used to give multiple users access to resources. If you have a particular resource such as a printer, it is easier to give access to a group rather than each user individually. When planning your user and group accounts, you need to accomplish a few tasks, such as the following:
- Planning user and group accounts
- Creating user and group accounts
- Managing user and group accounts
Each one of these tasks is important for an effective implementation of Windows NT Workstation.
